How We House Our Feeder Mice and Rat Colonies
At The Big Cheese Rodent Factory, we believe that healthy animals begin with a clean, safe, and low-stress environment. Our feeder mice and rats are housed in environmentally friendly enclosures lined with premium pure aspen wood bedding specially produced for animal contact
use. Unlike many bedding products made from recycled by-products, our bedding is manufactured directly from clean aspen wood for superior quality and consistency.
Our colonies are cared for by a trained, knowledgeable, and compassionate staff dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of animal care. To help ensure the health and well-being of our animals, habitats are routinely cleaned, sanitized, and monitored as part of our daily care program.
How We Package Our Frozen Feeder Mice, Rats, and Day Old Chicks
At The Big Cheese Rodent Factory, we take pride in delivering premium quality frozen feeder mice, rats, quail, rabbits, and day-old chicks. Every animal is carefully selected and hand- packaged by trained staff to ensure consistency, cleanliness, and quality in every order.
To help preserve freshness and nutritional value, our feeder rodents are vacuum sealed in durable Cryovac packaging. Vacuum packaging helps reduce freezer burn, protect product quality, and extend shelf life for long-term storage. Our frozen rodents can remain fresh in proper freezer conditions for up to 2 years.
Smaller feeders are individually pre-frozen before packaging to prevent clumping and large frozen blocks, making feeding more convenient and allowing animals to separate easily. Larger feeders are frozen with legs and tails neatly tucked underneath the body for cleaner packaging,
improved presentation, and easier handling.
